We spent our Saturday in beautiful Laguna Beach shooting Meredith + John's awesome beach wedding! We teamed up with the amazingly talented Krystel of Couture Events who created this awesome beachy theme! The best part, the bride and groom lounged at the pool in between the ceremony and reception! Theresa + Thao are such an awesome, creative and fun couple! Their wedding was absolutely beautiful all the way down to the smallest detail. I think my favorite part was their logo was P^2 because they had the same last name!! I guess that is going to make "changing" Theresa's name easy! Lucky you Theresa, no DMV line! And let me tell you, these two know how to throw a party! Their guests partied way into the midnight hour and the festivities started at 9am! I had the pleasure of shooting with the Amazing and incredible Hello Studios and we had a blast :] Check out some of my favorite shots from the day...

I have been meaning to post this *one year anniversary* post but life got crazy. SO sorry its a week late babe!

One year ago, I jumped out of the kings size bed that I was sharing with my maid of honor and bridesmaid and ran into the other room of our suite where the rest of my sleeping bridesmaids lay screaming "WAKE UPPP, Im getting MARRIED today!!!" Im sure the 5:30 am wake up call was nothing but amazing to my lovely *brides blessings*. I then called my soon to be sister in law telling her to get her butt out of bed and get down to the bridal suite because we only have 12 hours to get ready! (HA!) The day quickly unfolded to be the most amazing day of my entire life. Seriously. I don't think I could pick a favorite moment:: when Kevin saw me and tears of joy ran down his face, when I peered over the balcony to see hundreds of our family and friends there to support us, saying "I DO" to the most amazing man on the planet, kissing my new husband, walking into my dream reception, listening to incredible speeches (shout out to my bro-in-law Cody: "girl of his dreams in designer jeans"), dancing with our favorite people on the planet... gosh, it was one amazing day. I still dream about it. My mother helped me put together my *DREAM* wedding and I feel so blessed!!

I woke on our one year anniversary in the same beautiful hotel, The Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa as a wife. We laid there thanking God for all he has blessed us with in our first year. We thanked Him for providing a job for my husband. We thanked Him for the beautiful house we bought and made a home. We thanked Him for allowing us the provisions for me to start my own business full time. We thanked Him for the sweet puppy we took into our family. We thanked him for all the good times that allowed us to rejoice and all the bad times that allowed us to grow together and grow in Him. We thanked Him for the amazing people He has brought into our life. If this was only the first year, then I can't wait for the rest...

To my love, my life, my hubs,

Thank you would just not be sufficient. I cannot believe you picked me. I know that I am the luckiest girl on the planet. Thank you for being the most hard working man on the earth and taking your husband responsibilities so seriously. Thank you for loving me on the days that I am so unlovable. Thank you for holding me when I cry and for doing your best to understand me. Thank you for putting a smile on my face when I am disappointed and lifting me up. Thank you for leading me in the Lord and teaching me so many things about Him. Thank you for leading our marriage down a godly path and approaching every obstacle with prayer and scripture. Thank you for being so incredibly humble. Lastly, thank you for picking me to be your wife. I am so honored and blessed to be behind such an incredible, loving and amazing man. I love you more every single day.

We showed up to the Estancia on our anniversary and felt so blessed to find out the hotel would be comping our entire bill for the weekend! Are you kidding me?! We then got to our room and I walked in to the most amazing bouquet of my favorite flowers, dahlias. It was accompanied with champagne, a picinic and the most amazing letter that my husband has ever written me. WOW, and I get this guy for the rest of my life! He is so thoughtful. We spent the weekend by the pool, getting massages and eating the most amazing food. A big shout out to the Estancia and Erica Davis for making our anniversary so incredibly memorable!

Callie + Andrew | Day After

Ants. If I had a dollar for every ant I just killed in my kitchen I would be a rich woman! Of course, for the last few months my husband and I have been convinced that we don't need professionals. We can just spray ourselves! Why pay someone to come spray the house when we are completely capable of pushing a little button on a bottle of poison. Yet every time they come back! That's it you little creepy crawlers, Terminix is on its way!

Callie and Andrew. What can I say but these two are an answer to prayer. There is something so awesome about sharing life with people who are in the same stage of life as you are. There is something so awesome about knowing you could call these people at any hour and know they would be willing to help. There is something so awesome about knowing that you can confide in them knowing they will pray for you and uplift you. Callie and Andrew are all these things and more. We feel so blessed to have amazing friends in our life. We decided to do a Day After shoot in down town San Deigo. Something a little different than their country wedding! We had tons of fun, as usual :] Here are a few of my favorites!

4th Of July | Part 1:: The Boat

Monday is back. I guess I should stop being so surprised when it happens. After all, it happens every six days! We just spent a F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S weekend that I will blog about in a few days! After a weekend like that, Monday comes around a packs a little more punch than usual. We decided to run at 530am, well at least we had good intentions. Slept in, then pulled myself out of bed and went straight for my coffee...only to open to fridge and see we were out of creamer! What?! I like to pretend to be a hard core coffee drinker but the truth is I can't get close to it without cream! Enough about coffee...

Fourth of July was just fabulous! My husband got up before the sun to go fishing in the bay with my dad and brother. So I started my day with walking and Starbucks with my amazing mother and hilarious aunt, oh ya and of course the puppy. Then I went home and slaved over some fun cupcakes that you will see below :] We ended the day on my parent's boat in San Diego bay for the fireworks show. This was Tazer's first time on a boat and since he is such a good boy we assumed that he will be just perfect. For the entire trip he was fabulous, curious about the water, the fish and the birds. In San Diego, they set up four firework barges throughout the bay for the most amazing firework show! We backed the boat up to the barge with the city of San Diego as our back drop. Kevin and I snuggled up with Tazer at our feet, the first blast went off and Tazer glanced up then put his head back down. Apparently, that was just the warm up blast, and apparently we failed to think about how dogs react to fireworks. Then the real show started and before we could blink, Tazer was in our laps losing control of both his bladder and his bowels...yes, even his bowels. Then in a frantic panic, he flew over our shoulders and hid in the cabin shaking and crying. Kevin and I looked at each other, both soiled and smelling like a port-a-potty. We both went to sit with him but since Kevin got the worst of it, I just couldn't sit in the cabin with him. I was going to lose my dinner. So there Tazer and I sat, him practically in my sweatshirt, me covered in his liquid-to-semisolid waste (yuckk) and Kevin banned outside. But we could all still see the show and we had a change of clothes so really it was a great night that turned into a funny story! Here are a few shots from the day...

A great sprint trip to the in-laws!

Are we crazy to drive to Grass Valley on a Friday after work only to come back on Sunday morning...probably!! But we did it and it was worth it! We hopped in the car with our good friends and our sweet puppy and made our trek up the 5! Traffic was ridiculous but we were in good company and the puppy slept the whole way! We arrived at 230am, finally hit the pillow at 3am just to be woken up by a well rested puppy at 6am...ouch! I know that I am not in college anymore when I get three hours of sleep and feel like a truck ran me over! I had a photo shoot that evening with the amazing Christian+Sam so we pretty much spent the day bbq'ing (elk burgers!) with my hubby's family, hanging out at their pond and relaxing. After my shoot we topped off the night with margaritas, great conversation and a bon fire. We finally felt refreshed on Sunday morning just to jump back in the car for another 10 hours! All to say, we treasure our trips to Grass Valley even when they are short and sweet! Here are a few photos of our puppy loving the acres of freedom at Smith Vineyard!

Christian+Sam | Engaged

Christian and Sam are like peanut butter and jelly. They just go together! I have known Christian for 4 years, we played volleyball together at Biola. We really connected when I started dating my husband who was from her home town of Grass Valley! This girl has a heart of gold. She is so genuine and loving that she could make anyone feel right at home! I met Sam for the first time at our shoot. I was with them for a mere two minutes before I knew that he was the macaroni to her cheese! Watching them interact made me all warm and fuzzy inside. They are truly in love! I was thrilled when Christian said we should shoot at her grandparents ranch in Grass Valley. Once I stopped jumping around in excitement I picked the phone back up and agreed! When I arrived all I saw was acres and acres of cow, horse, fences and grass! Yeehaw!!! I even sported some cowboy boots :] Thats enough talking....here are some of my favorites :]

The Wolfe Family | Tarzan Hair

Happy Friday! Gosh, I love Friday! Its the end of the week, my husband gets off work an hour early, I usually have a fun shoot to look forward to (which I do tonight!!) and its the weekend! SO, Tarzan hair?? Yes, that was my name growing up. Tarzana to be exact. Now why would little mean kids call my that? Well, because my hair looked like something out of Tarzan! If any of you know my father, you know he got married with an afro, did I mention he is white?? So I was so graciously blessed with a whole heaping mess of frizzy curls that I had no idea what to do with. I think at one point I even had bangs....yes, pick up those jaws off the floor. When I was in high school my mother found something called YUKO. This is a Japanese hair straightening system that makes your mess of frizzy curls into silky straight locks! Long story short, I just had my 12th treatment in 7 years and Im seriously addicted. My mom and I battled traffic for a total of 7 1/2 hours yesterday, sat in a salon chair for another 4, but I have my silky straight hair again! WOO!!

On to the good stuff, the Wolfe Family! When Kristin emailed me and said they wanted to surprise their parents with a family photo shoot for their anniversary I was so excited! I have known Kristin since I was in Jr. High. She was on every club volleyball team I ever played on, which was every year from 7th-12th grade! We spent every summer together traveling to different cities and states playing volleyball! Needless to say, we had a ton of fun over the years! Her family is simply awesome. We had so much fun laughing and playing around in La Jolla! Here are a couple of my favorites from the day!!

My husband and I just got back from a whirlwind of a road trip with our good friends to see his family in Grass Valley! We were literally there for about the same amount of time we were in the car! I will have a post of our trip up soon.

The NEW KITCHEN | For real :]

There is a jeep parked next to my chair in my office today. Why, you ask? Well, because today my office is Toyota of Escondido (said in the catchy radio jingle voice, of course). My sweet husband just got a "new to him" truck! This thing is a beast, a mini version of his dad's truck. It is so cute when I see him pull up in the driveway and I automatically see a "mini Gary" both in the truck and the man driving it! Since my father-in-law is a seriously awesome guy I love that I see even one more comparison to him in my husband, even if it is a truck! ANYWAY, after driving this monstrous piece of machinery 45 minutes, getting weird glances from other manly truck drivers who wonder why this girl is driving this truck, I am now sitting in "my office" waiting for his alarm system to be installed...for four hours! SHEESH! Good thing I have tons of photos to edit!

Let's get to the good stuff! THE KITCHEN! If you look closely you will probably see my dad's blood, sweat and tears (not really). I guess you will see for yourselves the transformation of our kitchen/house. And 99.9% of what you see, my dad did. How does he know how to do all this stuff?? Who knows! Google? You Tube? However he knows it, he is good at anything! You will see that in the pictures. Living in a house with broken windows, an exposed attic and no kitchen was definitely an adventure to say the least. We feel so incredibly blessed to have a dad that could save us so much money and give us a kitchen from our dreams, sacrifice early mornings and super late nights and work so hard to make our house become our HOME.

Wolfe Family Shoot | New Kitchen, New House!

Happy Wednesday! As many of you know, my husband and I bought our first home in January!! WOO! We love our little house...now. When we first moved in the house was, well, kinda in need of some TLC. Thanks a ton to my amazing father (aka electrician, plumber, contractor, window installer, demolition man, architect..ect) we were able to turn this house into a home! Are you ready to see photos of the final project???? Well you are going to have to wait :] That is next on my list!

Hanna+ Randy:: Married!!

My assistant snores...loud! Not only does he snore, but he follows me everywhere, even into the bathroom! Did I mention my assistant is my dog, Tazer? That probably would have been good to know :] He is laying at my feet while I edit photos, snoring as loud as a grown man! I love having him with me all day. In a previous blog post about our new little addition I said I would explain why his name was Tazer, so here you go! My husbands family has a tradition of sorts to name their dogs after brands of guns...yes, firearms. Their last name is Smith so they have a lab named Wesson (after Smith & Wesson for those of you who are not as well versed in guns. Don't worry I was right there with you). They have another dog named Ruger as well as a grand dog named Nelli (after Benelli, duh!) So naturally we would follow suit. I made a joke at the beginning of the process of naming this pup that we should name him BB, or shot, or airsoft. Those are guns, right!? Im sure my husband was loving the sarcasm :] Then I made a joke that we should name him Tazer since my husband is dabbling with the idea of becoming a cop...and it stuck! So there you are folks, the reason my dog is named after a gun that uses 50kv of electricity over thin steel wires to stun a criminals motor and sensory nervous system! HA!

Last weekend, my husband and I had the JOY of attending a great friends wedding in San Clemente. Randy is a dear friend to my husband, first being a floormate his first year of college to a roommate in an amazing house called the Tabernacle (woo!! my favorite boys!). Later he became a groomsman in our wedding a year ago! Randy and I also starred as the lead roles in the 2009 Mock Rock at Biola (did I mention we won?!!). We had the privilege of witnessing the very beginning of Hanna and Randy's relationship and knew they were perfect together! Speaking of perfect, their wedding was as adorable as they are! This crafty couple made most of the decor and the details were just perfect. I was armed with just my 35mm and no flash since I was taking the train up and could only carry so much! BUT I couldn't show up without my camera and I just had to share a few shots from the day :]

Happy Monday! What a beautiful day! I am so excited today to post Cora and Calvin's fun red white and blue shoot! Let me just tell you about their mom Noelle! She is so adorable and brought all of these fun props for our shoot! I mean she had every detail taken care of. A little shout out to her for burning who knows how many calories chasing those cute kids around to get some cute smiles :] Armed with m&m's, bubble gum and water (Calvin's prize for smiling) we ended up with some really cute smiles! Happy Memorial Day everyone! A big THANK YOU to all the men and women who have laid down their life for our country!

I am so excited for a whole day with my hubs! It was such a treat waking up early and drink our coffee knowing he doesn't have to run off to work :] Big plans for the house today as well as taking our little pup to the beach for the first time! I hope everyone enjoys a beautiful day and here is a sneak peek of Cora from our patriotic shoot this weekend! Enjoy!

Jaclyn Senior Portraits!

Some people might think senior portraits are a "less fun" shoot compared to engagements or styled shoots... but I LOVE them! I absolutely love seeing these awesome teens moving into such an exciting and life changing time in their life! All of them have such bright futures and I love hearing their plans for their life!

Jaclyn's mom emailed me for senior portraits and I am so glad she did. Jaclyn is such a beautiful girl who made my job super easy :] She swears she hasn't modeled before but I still don't believe her! Happy Easter!! As many of you know, we got a puppy! A birthday/Easter present :] He is possibly the cutest dog ever, but of course I am biased :] Before we run off to church I wanted to post of few pics of our pup! Meet Tazer...we will get into why his name is Tazer on another post!

This is what happens when I try to take a photo of my puppy, it ends in tug of war...and he won :] Dont worry, I was scolded for letting him do this for the sake of a photo!

Preslee is three! We had so much fun shooting some photos down at Balboa Park! I would like to take credit for all of these poses but unfortunately I cannot. I must give credit where credit is due, to miss Preslee! She walked around the park and said "I have an idea, how about I sit like this, pose like that, do this!" Sure made my job easy! I was so glad that I brought my husband, Kevin, along because Preslee just loves him! She would have had him in every picture if she could! Apparently she thinks he is hilarious because every laughing photo you see was a product of something silly Kevin was doing behind me. Katie has tons of titles in my life: Friend, Teammate, Roommate. Not only is she one of my dear friends, but I played volleyball with her for three years at Biola, and lived with her for a year after graduating. She is one of the sweetest girls you will meet and I could not be happier for her! She found Brian. Let me just give a shout out to Brian for being the ultimate trooper at our photo shoot! He was down for any of my ideas, even getting in a freezing stream (luckily for Katie we didn't end up doing that). For any of you who have been photographed by me, you have heard the famous "ok, just one more then we will be done''...nine poses later that statement comes true. All to say, he was a good sport even when I dropped my famous line ten times! Katie and Brian are such a perfect match and I was so honored to be able to shoot their engagement session! Ok folks, this is one rockin family photo shoot! Ashley had contacted me to take pictures when they had sweet little Evelyn. We decided to meet at one of my favorite locations, the bridge, and take some fun photos! While Ashley was getting Evelyn awake and out of the car seat Chris taps my shoulder and pulls this gorgeous diamond ring out of his pocket and mouths "Im going to propose". WHAT?! Thats incredible! So about half way through our shoot I suggested taking some photos of just the two of them. Under and amazing tree that we found, Chris dropped to one knee and popped the question, and she said YES! This shoot has quickly become one of my favorites! It was hard to pick only a few for my blog, so here is more than just a few... ;] Thanks Chris + Ashley for letting me be a part of your engagement!

Having a big family is so fun! Although my family is the all American family of four, we still have tons of extended family! A few months back I took Rachel's maternity photos! You can look back in the blog to find that post! She decided that her family needed an updated photo with the whole gang! We planned a shoot, and it happened to be on the one weekend it rained in SD! The Jackson family is so adorable, don't you agree? They just welcomed baby Truman to the family and even though he was pretty hungry during the shoot, he was still so precious! I had a blast chasing little Andrew around and hanging out with this fun family! Here are a few of my favorites, it was so hard to pick just a handful!

Sometimes I feel the need to brag about my family because, let's be real, my family rocks. In this case, my new family rocks! In my recent travels to see my in-laws we were able to celebrate my mother-n-law's birthday. Side note: for those of you who love wine check out Smith Vineyard in Grass Valley! They were recently featured in Sunset Magazine and have a beautiful tasting room in downtown Grass Valley that is worth a trip to see! Anyways, back to the point, my sister-in-law makes some pretty legit cakes! She was in charge of making the birthday cake for the big party. I was able to be a baker's assistant for the day and witness her building this awesome cake. I was so impressed! Not only was it so beautiful, but it was super yummy! Now this isn't a profession for her (yet :]) but I still wanted to show off!

Meet the McGill Family! I have known Mike and Leigh for quite some time, before they were married! Now they have two beautiful kids and a third on the way! I was so excited to spend the afternoon with them and get some fun family shots. These kids have the cutest personalities and we had so much fun chasing them around the park with a camera! Last weekend while I was home for wedding festivities I squeezed in a photoshoot! Meet Cora and Calvin, two of the cutest kids around! Cora is friends with little Isabella who is in the post below this one! We had a great time running around a park for a few hours taking some photos! I will say that I got a work out, these kids were on the move! That is what makes my job so fun, being outside and being able to run around... Enjoy :]

Baby Oslo:: The last of the grandbabies (for now)!

This morning I had a chance to get up (before the sun) and head over to baby Oslo's house to get some photos of him! He has gotten so much bigger since I saw him last! Oslo was the last grandbaby (as of right now) for me to shoot and he was such a great model! I got there right as he was waking up and he was all smiles! We just hung around my cousin's awesome pad in Santa Ana and took some fun shots! Here are just a few of my favorites!

Isabella is turning three!! Yes, I know that I post a ton of photos of these cute little girls but I just can't help it! We decided to do a fairy shoot, complete with wings and a wand! It has been raining in LA for sooo long!! Everytime the sun comes out the rain comes right back...and I LOVE it :] It also gives me an excuse to sit in my sweats and edit photos which is my favorite thing to do!

So this is my best friend April. I have a few things to say about her. She is gorgeous. She is the MOST fun to be around. She can make me laugh anytime of the day. We decided one day when I didn't have work and she didn't have class to go and have some fun shooting! And after our attempt to climb over a barbed wire fence and a quick hike up a mountain we definitely had some fun :]

While spending some relaxing days in Grass Valley I was able to meet Ellie and her sweet family! They had seen my previous shoot that I did in Grass Valley and asked me to do some senior portraits along with a family shot! It was sooo great because they had this awesome little cabin that we got to shoot at and the fall colors were out strutting their stuff! The weather was super cooperative and we just beat the rain! This weekend I had a chance to greet fall in NorCal and spend the weekend with my boyfriend's amazing family. While I was there I had the pleasure of shooting one year-ish photos for his older brother and his awesome wife. They are SOO fun, and obviously easy to shoot :D We walked around the vineyard on a cloudy morning and got some great shots!!

Tracy has these amazing big blue eyes, I couldn't resist!!

The sun was rising above the trees in the early morning and turned the leaves of the vineyard such awesome colors!!

It seems I have become official family photographer since everyone is having babies in my family!! Hey, I am not complaining, they are so fun and even more cute! This is baby Hannah, granddaughter number three! She came down for a baby shower and we thought we would squeeze a shoot in while she was here. We just roamed around my parents house and had a blast! She is such a sweet baby!
